Haven't shown anything in what felt like ages. Time to change that, so here is a beautiful #MuteSwan that was tending to its plumage. :Blobhaj_TinyHearts:
These are just beautiful animals!

The other day I was walking through my favorite local park when I saw a large #Nutria foraging in a creek.
Although Nutrias are not rare in Germany, I never saw one that close and was absolutely thrilled to take a photo of a wild one.
So there you have it. A pretty standard photo for everyone else, but a great achievement for me personally. :Blobhaj:
Time for one of the tiniest and definitely cutest birds of Europe, the #CommonFirecrest!
It's incredibly small, incredibly cute and sadly for me incredibly active. This was the only good photo out of many attempts to capture it foraging between all these twigs.
Hope you find some joy in this little critter too. π

This #mushroom is the essence of #fragility to me. It almost looks like the skeleton of one, if they had bones.
There were a few of these, and I just had to try and capture the beauty of their caps. This photo is, to nobody's surprise, a #stack of, I don't remember exactly, something along the lines of 50 single images.
Sadly the prime time for mushrooms is already over, so I will have to find other subjects again soon. :Blobhaj_SadReach:

I was lucky enough to spend a few hours on the woods today to capture some #mushrooms.
This particular one grew on a fallen tree and with the beautiful background and the soft sunlight, I'm more than happy with how the result turned out.
It's a stack of 68 single images, because as usual I wanted to keep a nice bokeh while getting the whole mushroom in focus.

It's this wonderful time of the year again...#autumn!
This of course means that #mushrooms are now a regular sight in the forests around us. And I love that! The last few days I managed to spend some wonderfully quiet hours in the woods, only me and my gear, searching for a good #photo.
This is one of those, at least I like the beautiful light and the fragility of the teeny tiny mushrooms between moss. Stack of 6 photos to be exact.

Haven't shared a #photo in aeons..so here you go!
This #blackbird seemed to be moulting (is that the right word? π ) and looked kinda fuzzy as a result.
It wasn't really concerned with me crawling around it and just kept foraging.

I like to post happy photos, with (more of less) funny remarks. Not today.
My child and I met this #toad today. You can easily spot the issue - it didn't behave as it should (it kept running towards us) and its nostrils looked very ill. I didn't know what that could possibly be, so I researched a bit and it seems to be larvae of the #toadfly. So, sadly, this toad is about to face a very painful death.

Todays photo is a mix of sadness and happiness. Yesterday we found these incredibly cute, but also helpless little #squirrels. After playing a loud call to hopefully attract their mother for a while, we packed them in a warm box and brought them to a care center nearby that specialises on squirrels.
Good news is, they survived the night and drink 1 ml of milk every 2 hours. π
I'm hoping that they will grow up and can live in the wild again.

Sharing is caring!
These two, #bumblebee and #honeybee, were sharing this coneflower. Well of course they were still threatening each other when they came too close, but well, guess the whole sharing thing ends when it comes to nectar.

We should all be more curious of the unknown. Just like this black-headed gull! It kept hovering near me, watching and occasionally screaming its call.
I was lucky enough to get this photo, which I'm really happy with. I think it's funny how the gull looks right into the camera with this lightly surprised look. πΈ

Time for another baby #bird!
This is a young #oystercatcher with one of the adult birds nearby. They watched me very closely and started to alert everyone in the area that I'm a terrible thread. I would've been able to get a little closer possibly, but as soon as they started to move I backed up.
These are some of my favourite birds, their screams are incredibly loud, they look so cute and they are rather hard to photograph, because they are so easily startled.

A few days ago I saw this interesting clam. At least that was its outside appearance, but as we all know, only what's inside counts. And in this case it did surprise me, because the clam was in fact a crab, a #HermitCrab to be precise. π
The little crustacean was able to completely close the shells for protection and was otherwise quite agile with its creative housing.

Be warned, what follows now is an almost extreme level of cuteness!
This is the chick of a black-headed gull. As far as I learned, its main hobbies are standing, sleeping and looking around.
I could spend hours just sitting on the ground and watch this little fluffball do its things.
Hope you also find some joy in the featherhead. π

Haven't posted in quite a while...ah well, so many issues to deal with atm and so little time and energy left for nice things such as Mastodon. :Blobhaj_SadReach:
But today I'm gonna annoy you again with another photo, a #macro of this absolutely beautiful #caterpillar to be exact!
It's gonna become a rusty tussock moth and I just love its style. All these crazy hairs everywhere! Although I was careful lot to touch them, I didn't want to test if they cause any harm.

After I tooted its offspring a few days ago, here is one of the adult #BlackRedstart.
Its sitting in our cherry tree, while carefully watching me on the ground and warning everyone on the neighbourhood, that I'm about as dangerous as it gets. π
#BlackRedstart #photography #EyesOnNature
I'M HUNGRY!
And I'm not alone, apparently this young #BlackRedstart wanted a delicious worm too. π
It's one of three youngsters who roam around our garden every day, waiting to get some food brought to them. And they are not quiet while waiting!
But that's fine, I love watching them and occasionally I get lucky with photos like this one. Although as soon as I step out into the garden, the parents start warning everyone that there's danger coming.

Time for a new photo!
This #pigeon built its nest in our garden. I was so happy when I saw that, but sadly this ended pretty fast. A few days later the eggs where destroyed, I suspect two squirrels that usually jump around in the same tree. But it may have been any other animal.
Now there is just the empty nest left, but at least I got this photo...

What day is it? It's awesome hair (or feather...) day!
I mean, look at this little #blackbird chick and the glorious feathers on its head.
This was one of three chicks which followed their father around the garden, loudly proclaiming that they desire more food. It looked incredibly funny how, every time the parent found a worm, these three chicks instantly surrounded it and tried to get their share. π

Does it sting?
Well this #nettle stem surely would if you touched it!
But I managed to stay far enough away and just capture the fine needles in the early morning sunlight.
And that's really all there is to say about this photo. Nettle, bokeh, stingy things. :darktable:
