@rust_discussions although I abhor the syntax, I probably would have considered #rustlang again, but for binary cargo. That many packages insert windows api dll's cargos I don't use on non-windows platforms was dumb and very wasteful. That it actively enables and encourages binary cargo's in general seems a #fail. If the binary cargo's required a separate repo or otherwise can be reliably excluded, I would have even been okay with that. That it mixes them together I find ethically unusable.

The #BSL should be called the Business Selfish License. In the end, by not permitting anyone else to benefit from their code, yes, gasp, including potential competitors, they effectively discourage outside contribution to their own code base, only to have it wither and die as they will loose control of their own market to forks like #OpenTF . In effect, #Hashicorp itself has caused what it seems to have feared most. Self inflicted #fail .

Nothing like trying to stand up new servers(to verify the backups and restore procedures) only to have no one know how to setup the software there on the server. #FAIL

Of the many things I love about #Mastadon versus #Facebook is that I can always find what someone posted (tooted/whatever) earlier. I see it, get distracted, and want to come back to check it out later, no problemo.

But on Facebook, I just saw something in my timeline, went off to another site and back to FB, and their algo decided to show me a completely different set of stuff. #Fail

By using saved #hashtag searches here, I create my own algo. And it is perfect.

My number one pet peeve today is ads on websites that I look at on a mobile phone that have an X to close the ad but all he does is take you to the site. #Fail. Deception is never a good business model.

@david David yes I agree no offline mode for Apple maps is a big #fail. Also noticed that Google Maps has the direction you are pointed in top right corner. Apple does not have that as far as I can tell.

So, we were out at Haji Lane at MADD Pizza for dinner. I was presented with an open wifi offer. I don't normally connect to it on my regular phone, but I had my burner with me and so I tried. I was presented with this screen to log into FB before proceeding. #fail.
