1. If I have to swallow so many uneducated opinions about the ongoing #FIDE #chess scandal, why am I not reading any constructive debate? For example: too many munch the term of "segregation" in this context. Okay, let's say it is put an end to. What shall happen next? Women should get stripped of their titles earned in women tournaments? Unfair. Women should have the "woman" part removed from their IM/GM title? Unfair, since they didn't earn them by competing together with males.

In context of ongoing #FIDE circlejerk, I remembered my favorite troll Tal. When Maia Chiburdanidze became the Women's World #Chess Champion, a journalist asked Tal what are her chances to become Men's World Chess Champion. Tal instantly replied with a poker face: "Her chances are higher than mine to become Women's World Chess Champion". My man Misha 👏 😂

FIDE showing its transphobic ass is sad and not terribly surprising. It did hurt as chess was a thing I enjoyed semi-seriously playing and teaching back in the day and I had a much higher opinion of them back then.

Anyway, fuck FIDE. Just hoping my old federation (FQE) has more sense and hopefully is less bigoted.

#FIDE, the World Chess Federation, needs to face some urgent challenges:

1) Get a proper audit on corruption and suspicious "gray area" sponsorships by sanctioned (= Russian) companies.

2) Establish the same standards for all FIDE events, particularly the women's chess championships. This year's Women's Grand Prix in New Delhi is something that mustn't happen again.

3) GET A PROPER SOUND TECHNICIAN TO TAKE CARE OF AUDIO STREAMS, MICROPHONES, AND SOUND MIXING.

♟️ Well, at least #FIDE have changed the online chessboard of the #FIDEWorldChampionship streaming for the better. The first two games featured an ugly, barely readable one. This one is more like what we're used to on platforms such as @lichess.

It took someone of the calibre of Susan Polgar to complain about the chessboard yesterday on the birdsite for this to change, but it looks like it was worth it.
