I joined Mastodon a little while back but only started using it about the same time as you. My modest 250 followers is only a fraction of the 5k+ I have on Twitter, but it gives me hope that even quieter voices, like mine, will still be heard.
Birdify is great for migrating to Mastodon, and the crossposting apps work well too.
