@SteveLittle Wow, Steve thanks. I can only see program lines 14 to 33, so don’t know if I am smart enough to try to run it. This is for the Cecil-Cissell project at #FTDNA. We are trying to see if we can tease distant matches out of some whole genome sequencing data from Dante Labs. Dave
Not all scientific findings are accomplished by professionals. This is what dedicated individuals can do. This traces the diaspora of a single 4,000 year old YSNP (Y chromosome mutation) https://wheatonwood.com/2022/11/30/the-human-diaspora-illustrated-through-a-single-y-snp/ #FTDNA #DNA #genealogy #GeneticGenealogy #YDNA #diaspora #AncientDNA #Ancientcultures #FGC22501

#DNA #FTDNA #ISOGG #GeneticGenealogy Great news 🥳 from FTDNA spread the word. All kit owners can designate a project admin as a Beneficiary. That is not specific to an individual, it is for whomever is administering the project at the time that member passes away. This allows that administrator to maintain the kit, including ordering upgrades. Go to your account Settings then to Account Information and then beneficiary.

Thanks to everyone who made suggestions for #genealogy sites the last few days.
I've uploaded DNA to #Ancestry, #23andMe, #MyHeritage, #FTDNA and uploaded my tree to all of those. #DNA is also on #Gedmatch and tree is currently uploading to #wikitree.
Hopefully if my #german relative really exists, i'll find them at some point!

@kwheaton Thanks! What does that entail? I'm not familiar with #FTDNA or #RehobothMAPlaces.
@jmasonwritedit Thanks Joanne. I also manage the #FTDNA #RehobothMAPlaces #DNA Rehoboth DNA Project so if you have tested you can upload there.
#FTDNA has a Y-Chromosome Browser for BigY test results. It currently provides access only to identified private variant locations.
For #GeneticGenealogy I occasionally want to be able to check the BAM file data at other locations. There are a few ways to do this, but the following is a manual method. The procedure works on a MAC, but I suspect something similar may be possible on a PC.
See the next sections for an example of the process.
#DNA #GeneticGenealogy Please share yours! I run a bunch of DNA projects at #FTDNA :

Still learning about Mastodon and trying hashtags!
For a #Genealogy Project, I have been tracing surname lines with #GeneticGenealogy using #Y_Chromosome #SnpTests from Family Tree DNA ( #FTDNA ). That has worked out very well.
Now am trying to look at autosomal SNPs from #WholeGenomeSequencing ( #WGS ) tests to detect possible common ancestors back 9-12 generations or so. Want to see if very rare genetic variants ( #vrGV ) can be used in some way to identify those possible connections.
