I loved drawing this snow leopard for three reasons: it stretched me just enough, the colours are relaxing (ironically), and the reference photo by Gill Merritt was gorgeous. If you’re going to be staring at a photo for hours, it had better be captivating :)

Slime molds ...

They are not mushrooms, not plants and not animals. They don't actually belong to anything, they belong to themselves.
Slime molds seem to come from another planet, unearthly almost. The growth forms are extraordinary, all stages!
These pencil drawings are inspired by my own observation and experience and imagination.

I thought it might be nice to share this drawing.

Last week I've been working on this pencil drawing, slowly as a kind of meditation.

They are various growth stages of one slime mold species, Physarum Album based on my observation and experience. And I allow myself artistic freedom 🙂
