The new #Fairphone5 looks sick! Glad to see that Fairphone continues to stay as a good, ethical, sustainable, repairable alternative to other #smartphones in the market. I'm loving my #Fairphone4 with a custom Android ROM right now.

If you wanna buy a new phone and don't wanna go second hand, I can wholeheartedly recommend a #Fairphone - it's not perfect (ie. no headphone jack), but when it comes to new phones it's the best option.

Buy one phone, keep it until 2031. Sounds genius to me.

#FairPhone should make Bluetooth over/on ear headphones with relevant batteries. There just aren't really any on the market which is wild because it shouldn't be that hard to make.

I still wish the #fairphone kept the 3.5mm audio jack. Wired headphones are just way more reliable and sustainable. And from their leaked renders it looks like they are leaving it out for the upcoming fairphone 5 too

I would love to buy the Fairphone 4 now that it's in the US, but I'm not 100% sold on a de-googled phone.

I love the idea of it, but in my experience Google Maps is the only maps service that:

- has Android Auto support
- tells you of turns at a reasonable time (looking at you, Waze 👻)
- actually lists most locations (most FOSS maps apps can't find 7-Brews....)

If anyone knows of an app that fulfills these, please let me know! I travel constantly so these are NECESSARY! #FairPhone #Android

Dear #Fediverse #Android people, I am trying to figure out what OS to use on a #Fairphone 4.

I am considering /e/OS and CalyxOS.

Anyone any opinions on those?

I want a usable de-Googled phone OS. I like /e/OS's Nextcloud integration, but CalyxOS seems to be more up-to-date (already on Android 13, where /e/OS is Android 12). CalyxOS also makes it easier to re-lock the bootloader.

@daisy I can't wait for #fairphone 5 because I want to finally migrate from a locked bootloader, personalized content in my phone and updates that install something like `Meta updater` without my consent. If my Samsung doesn't die till September I will simply sell it 🥰 ✊
