En Canatlán, pueblo de la provincia de Nueva Vizcaya en la entonces Nueva España (hoy Durango, México), Juan de Balles e Isabel de Figueredo bautizaron a su hijo Joseph de Balles.

Juan e Isabel son mis antepasados directos de hace 10 generaciones por medio de su hija Juana de Valles (o Balle o Del Valle)

Es el documento más antiguo de un antepasado que he podido confirmar.

#FamilySearch es muy útil para hacer las conexiones porque cualquiera lo puede modificar pero es preferible tener un árbol personal.

I admit to trying #WikiTree when it first appeared, but it did not require sources and did not support my Mom's complex adoptive and bio family. I walked away and have not looked at how it has matured. I keep my large database on my computer and sync small portions to some sites.

I rarely look at the #FamilySearch tree because of the many errors and the hassle to correct it. Relatives at #RootsTech suckers me into trying! I fix a little bit each year.

It's so hard to decide! I've been winging it.

I made the mistake of delving into relatives at #RootsTech and decided to connect my great-grandmother to her German-born father. I spent much of yesterday removing extra wives, children and sources. Some people do not understand that there may be 20 men in the village with the same name over 100 years time! The most hilarious was the husband and father who died the year he was born. Really?!?!!!

Oh, yes, there is my ancestor who was born when his father was 4. My most aggravating is the one whose brother has been set as his father and fixing it on FS is so hard I have left it wrong. One of my cousins, descended from him, is a FHC director and she hasn't even fixed it! But I understand your point. #Genealogy #FamilySearch

Every year I want to do this and then I look at all the mistakes in the tree for my ancestors and back away. But the concept is intriguing.

On this day November 23rd 1844 , my Great-Great Grandmother, Margaret Shanahan (nee Stack) got married in Abbeydorney, Co. Kerry. She had 13 children. Her grandson Edwin Curran-Shanahan was the first FBI special agent to be killed in the line of duty in Chicago, October 11th 1925 at the age of 32.
