I got a new coloring book (by @dramypsyd) and I started coloring in it today!! I love it! Each spider represents something different. The rainbow ones are after an insider with an ex bff (I’m working through the grief of losing that friendship even four years later bc being #Actuallyautistic makes it hard for me to let things go), the pink and green spider is Wanda and Cosmo thinking they slick, the orange and teal one is perry the platy-erm I mean spider, and the black and blue one is for Backstreet Boys album black and blue. I plan to color the other spiders with other themes from my various hyperfixations/special interests. I’m excited to finish it and color some more pages in it! #coloring #peaceful #FASD #ADHD

#today has been a whirlwind. I got a call about a position I applied to a while back that I thought had been filled but apparently there was a change and the position is open. I have an interview Monday at 2 and I am freaking tf out. I went shopping today and got an outfit for it. I know this is technically a good thing but I’m still scared to death and have so much anxiety about it. #ActuallyAutistic #FASD #ADHD #panic

*sigh* So while Carl reads his chapters for school I usually use that time to get lost in a book since it’s a quiet activity that keeps my mind entertained. As I’ve mentioned before Danielle Steel is a fave author of mine and my go to to get my reading fix most times. Well this is the second book of hers that I’ve taken issue with something in it. The first one I forget the title of but it had a character that drank while pregnant bc her doctor said one glass of wine a night was ok, healthy even! Which I obviously STRONGLY disagree with as #FASD (fetal alcohol spectrum disorder) affects me greatly. (please do not @ me for disagreeing with that and try to justify any amount of alcohol while pregnant. Doing so will result in an instant block and I don’t have the emotional wherewithal right now to argue about it. NO amount of alcohol is safe for a fetus in utero, it WILL cause PERMANENT BRAIN DAMAGE! you can’t change my mind.)

In this book it has an autistic character. The character is referred to as “having a high IQ and on the higher end of the ever changing autism spectrum” and mentions them having aspbergers which is an outdated term. So that’s upset me now as well as an #ActuallyAutistic person. I just wanna scream DO SOME RESEARCH At Steel tbh. As a #writer myself I don’t write about anything without doing a fuck ton of research to make sure it’s plausible or comes across right. And i mainly write fanfiction ffs. I just ugh. #today is a class day for Carl which means I’m alone til 10pm tonight. I’ll just be binging tv shows or maybe I’ll build a Lego set. I also have leftovers from that restaurant with the puffy chips! I've been looking for new #books on #neurodiversity and #disability to request or donate to my local library. I've got tons of books on ADHD and autism to go through now, and a few on dyspraxia, but we need more...well...diversity!

Can anyone recommend books on these topics? Preferably new (2021-2023) and written by neurodivergent authours, but all suggestions are welcome. Looking for queer and BIPOC authours, especially. Thanks!

I am pretty damn proud of all that I accomplished #today tbh. I picked up my meds (after having to make phone calls to get one filled), picked up a few groceries at Walmart, came home and filled out a job application, washed the bedding, walk/jogged two miles, then made dinner!
