Not all winter #fatbiking trails are idea. We rode this two days ago and it was the best trail we hit. But more riders, different skill levels and weights, along with not being deeply packed snow turned it into a very rutted mess with a lot of footprints along the sides.
To ride this: keep up speed, stay out of saddle, light hands, fine weight control, and more swearing than swerving! ๐

No daydreaming, no unstable riding or you'll end up swamped out in deep soft snow struggling to get back up. Even putting a foot down to rest isn't a given, that part of trail might be soft and you tip right over.
On the other hand if you wipe out the landing will probably be pretty nice.

A ebike version with big battery bank for packing trails. Maybe tows a small platform to put down some โcorduroyโ which helps the surface cool and solidify faster.

Warm day yesterday, a bit above freezing in the woods so ideal for #fatbiking trail packing.
Warm weather also brings out the Springtails (snow fleas, but they aren't fleas). Kind of hard to even notice if you aren't familiar with them, but thousands and thousands of tiny dots all over the snow. Later in the Spring theyโll congregate thick enough it looks like a purplish patch of fungus.

Figured I better get out before it accumulates more snow than the fat bike and my skills can handle. It was good, plenty of work, including knocking snow off trees so theyโd quit leaning over the trail.
