So I figured I'd put the call out here, because the #FediHam community has been awesome. I think this could be a way to introduce people to amateur radio in an inclusive way, I think it would be a way to grow the #FediHam community, and I think it would be great for adding more diverse voices on the air.
So here's my pitch: If you're willing to lend a hand, please feel free to reach out. These classes will likely be online, so if you feel like you can assist, let me know.
Hey gang! I just checked in to the #FediFridayWinlinkNet
It's really easy to do! To check in simply send a Winlink email:
To: W0RMT
Subject: FFWN
Line 1 text: [callsign], [firstname], [city], [state/province/locale], [country], [mastodon username], [VHF/HF/APRS/Telnet]
Line 2 text: [complete this task] Send a #Winlink message to another #fediham. Tell us who you sent the message to.

So while browsing around for repeater info today, I happened across the slightly-less-local ARC in my area, and honestly...I think I'm gonna check it out. Seems a lot more active than the club down the street. Worst case scenario, I spend $15 for an annual membership and end up hating it and just remain a steadfast #FediHam
But it was nice to see one of their featured speakers at this month's meeting was a teenager selling EFHW antennas!
There is only one Allstar node within a 60 km radius, and it is 59km away. 😂
I still need to figure out exactly how C4FM / WiresX works and if I can even use my FT-70d to access the #FediHam chat, which still involves me driving to a (different) local hill and hoping no one else is using the repeater in question.
@ky4qx As discussed on #FediHam, here is the link to the DIY TuneRite clone for ICOM transceivers:

I know it's not #FediHam but...
Feel free to join the Troy Amateur Radio Association's #TARA Social #Net on the #N2TY repeater system. It's a directed informal net and is held every Thursday at 8pm EST (01:00 UTC). #Echolink node: 618264.
Visit N2TY.org or email.me at kb2dsr@protonmail.com for more information.

I copied today's #Morsle at 40 WPM on hard mode! https://morsle.fun

Hi Steve,
Hearing you calling DK1MI via the YSF reflector. I've called you a few times but heard nothing. I'm using straight YSF via YSF73737 and I see my call on the TGIF DMR Talkgroup last heard (7337).
Still getting to grips with YSF and this new FT3D!
Might catch you later?
@swampwoman
The Technician class license is a great entry license for emergency preparedness. It gives you access to local hams which are the best resource in a situation where the cell service is down. There are also digital modes that enable world wide communication using the Internet as a backbone such as our own #FediHam network.
If you can find the time I’d encourage you look at getting the Technician sooner rather than later. There are lots of online resources to help!
73!
Based on the results of my #FediHam digital net poll, I can say there isn't adequate interest from those who participated so I'll be shelving the idea.

Would the #FediHam community be interested in a weekly digital (DMR/YSF/DStar/Echolink, etc) net?
I have some experience running nets and could serve as a Net Control Station.
