Recently, and this is what I think is finally doing the trick, I repotted it and I spray it once a week with a mix of hydrogen peroxide and water (Google about it and you'll find info about that trick, it's also useful against the damn fungus gnats and other issues!).
I also use that mix for a mildew issue I'm having with a bromeliad my mom gave me that is in isolation rn in another part of the house.
So, this is my Monstera, everyone!
It's been a headache lately, taking care of her, because I found out she has brown spot. It prolly came with it from the nursery and it only came 'out' visible when the hot weather arrived. *sigh*
I've been trying to deal with it with DIY natural remedies at home and so far it's not spreading much, so I think it's working! Now, which of the methods? I dunno, I'm working on several fronts at the same time! :ablobcathappypaws:
#FediPlants #monsteradeliciosa
#FediPlants is the hashtag I'm using for my posts about what I'm doing with my/to my dear plants. I'll also use it to ask questions, post photos, etc. of my plants.
As a noob in these matters I often felt the need for a community where I could show my plants as they are rn without feeling shame for how they are, but also wanted tips on how to get them better. I still do.
That's what I want #FediPlants to be one day!
You are welcome to join! :ablobcatrave:
Keep it 🌿!
I have a feeling I'll have to repot it again anyway, from what I've been reading about this water on aerial roots trick. Which is why I have an even bigger vase, for a final repotting in a few months, if needed. :blobnervous2:
Continuing on my plants saga, yesterday o repotted my Monstera again because:
1. it is making justice to its name and is getting huge and needed a bigger vase, again!
2. it also needed a moss pole, to help with leaves direction and hum, steadiness? 😅
3. It has some aerial roots growing and I wanna give them some water and see the plant grow even more and faster, so I decided to go ahead and give it the space for it already before I gave it the water. :blobcatflower:
Here's the fruit, literally, of my love for plants, and I'm gonna eat it right now before sleeping.
Hard to imagine that back in January this plant was almost dead because I was such a noob and didn't know how to take care of it and now it's given me these and they aren't even the first bunch, just the first time I didn't immediately eat before snapping a pic. :ablobcathappypaws:
