I’ve merged a couple of datasets—with backups, column tweaking, and gritted teeth. I can now identify roughly 1600 titles that were once part of Eliza Ritchie’s library. Still need to chase bibliographic details for 500 items by the end of October I should have a decent dataset to start with. #libraryhistory #feministbibliography

In the spring I borrowed H.D.’s Heliodora out of random curiosity and popped it on my to read shelf where it’s sat unopened. Today while working with data collected from the same library’s Accession Books, I found a reference to a copy of Heliodora that came to the library after Eliza Ritchie’s death. On opening the book, I’ve found the right bookplate, the right accession date, and the right edition. Mildly astonished at the coincidence. #libraryhistory #feministbibliography

*And* 2/4 items have female printers! And it's very nice to link to their real names in the record and have "widow of __" as an alternate name versus having exactly what's in the imprint. Francisca de los Ríos in the image in the above post is an example of that. #FeministBibliography
Just read @rebeccaromney’s excellent piece on feminist practice in rare books & manuscripts bookselling & I hope you’ll read it too. She provides a how-to on feminist principles in action in the book trade & generatively shares the work of booksellers. #feminism #FeministBibliography #bibliography #bookselling #RareBooks

Hi, new #introduction because I'm so ashamed by the typo in my original one! I'm still in twitter expat mode, but getting more into what mastodon offers. On every platform I am always about #RareBooks, #BookHistory, and #FeministBibliography, and I am always invested in #cats and #AbortionRights and #TransRights.
I wrote a book about early printed books, I coedit a journal about bibliography, and I have a lot of #CopyEditorProblems--but I do not copy edit my posts lolll

You could also pick up this really great book on early Atlantic textiles and texts for 28.50 if I can do basic math. It's been a key #FeministBibliography text for me https://www.press.jhu.edu/books/title/12361/fabric-empire

A #FeministBibliography #archives question: is it typical to refer to a "sister collection" when, say, one institution has an archive connected to another one? And is there a non-gendered term I could use instead?
