#FilmRecommendations, number 4 of 5. Hit the Road (Panah Panahi, 2021). Debut feature from this director. A chaotic Iranian family are driving towards the border. Why? Well, the little boy doesn't know, so I'm not going to tell you. Funny, poignant.

#FilmRecommendations, number 3 of a now ambitious feeling 5. Happening (Audrey Diwan, 2021). 1960s. Unwanted pregnancy. Abortion illegal in France. Sadly a rather timely drama, and one that plays as straight as an arrow. Suitably Intense and no fat on it.

#FilmRecommendations, number 2 of 5. Playground (Laura Wandel, 2021). Belgian schools look brutal, man. Drama told from the perspective of the child, in which Wandel literally keeps the camera at child's head height. Urgent, claustrophobic, quite short (70 minutes) and really rather good. #films #Letterboxd

First up, The Innocents (Eskil Vogt, 2021), a terrific Norwegian psychological #horror that's a little bit Carrie, a little bit X-Men and maybe even a little We Need To Talk About Kevin.
