One of my pandemic labours of love was co-editing a collection of essays on @mogster's play, Emilia. After many Covid-related delays, it was published on 30 December. It's currently discounted in Routledge's end-of-year sale. The essays are short, readable, pitched to undergraduates and relevant to numerous fields of study. #theatrestudies #feminism #genderstudies #literature #shakespeare #adaptation #academia #publication #newbook #firstbook https://www.routledge.com/Notelets-of-Filth-A-Companion-Reader-to-MLMs-Emilia/Kressly-Patient-Williams/p/book/9780367498290

I almost can't believe that this is published (after x delays)! But immensely proud and happy to have this gift of the year arrive before 2022 is over.
Available in #OA any day soon and I've read parts in Google books so it's around! #firstbook @cambridgecore@twitter.com @CambridgeUP@twitter.com 📚 https://twitter.com/SaniyaPuri007/status/1608682478931439617

@zein I like this twist because "first book" would be impossible to unearth from the memory banks.
First book I remember reading of my own volition and falling in love with was Kipling's The Jungle Book. I'd seen an animated adaptation on the TV and was totally into the kid being raised by wolves thing. So in third grade when I saw my aunt's Kipling hardcover compendium and that it included that story I picked it up and devoured it. #FirstBook
Someone somewhere on here started this hashtag, and I thought it'd be fun to share with my little group here.
I can't remember the first book I've ever read, but I can vividly remember the first book that taught me to fall in love with reading.
"Of Mice and Men" was mine. I was "forced" to read it for an upcoming test. I put the reading off until close to the last minute, but once I started the story, I couldn't put it down.
Furthermore, I aced the test, and found a new love.
#FirstBook is a fun topic https://indieweb.social/@jamesecradockjr/109330927536956651.
The first book, chapter book at least, that I remember reading was The Hobbit. I read it on a dare from my uncle. Probably read others (I know A Wrinkle in Time was in there somewhere), but that one changed the course of my reading future.
