Seems like the least we can do, given that colonists wiped out the large majority of Indigenous peoples living here then continued to actively terrorize their descendants in the decades that followed, right up to present day.

Australia: Santos has been ordered to stop drilling at its $6.3 billion Barossa gas project after the Federal Court found the energy heavyweight had failed to properly consult the people of the Tiwi Islands.
EDO counsel Alina Leiken: “It sets a new standard about the consultation that companies are required to conduct with First Nations peoples before drilling in the sea”.
