Having a few days (today's the last) of hiking around Flamborough. Today's walk I've termed the two landings, one head and a bay walk - 10 miles, South Landing, Flamborough Head, North Landing and Thornwick Bay. Less birdlife than yesterday at Bempton Cliffs, except for Kittiwakes & Guillemots but several hundred seals made up for this. Weather has been kind to me - cool breeze but sunny, perfect for walking.

Walking at Flamborough for a few days & hiked to Bempton Cliffs today to witness the spring influx of thousands of Gannets (Britain's largest bird), razorbills, guillemots, kittiwakes, fulmars (not many - sea pollution caused by plastics has reduced their numbers by 30%) & the iconic PUFFINS. I've walked here many times at this time of the year & I'd say the number of breeding birds is well down & guess what - it's all mankind's doing.

At Flamborough for a few days walking. Arrived today so a short walk through Danes Dyke and along the coast to Sewerby before taking the inland footpath back, crossing Danes Dyke.

From 2011, a favourite haunt of mine, Bempton Cliffs, North of Flamborough Head in East Yorkshire, England. Gannets, nesting in the cliffs in their thousands with an aroma to remember. Flaps down, ready for landing.
