It was already mentioned that a Foggy data hoarder is selling data to the police. EFF reported and also posted some advice. Sadly, they say only Android 12 lets you clear/change the advertising ID. I have devices with Android 12,11,10 and 6. On all I can clear/change this ID.
Doing that is not enough though:
Avoid apps with trackers, keep your location off, remove all apps you don't need/use.
