It was way faster and relaxing than I expected, because though the day was cold, the sun was bright and the sky was cloudless.

Yup! Got the magnets added. Turns out he didn't need to do any welding. Even better. 👍 The magnets aren't as strong as I expected, but still good. 👌

Now my el cheapo Japan surplus #bike can fold without the center of the wheels banging together. I still use a strap to keep it steady together because I'll be pushing my folded bike from the handlebar. Just a slight twist of it and the magnets will separate.

Money well-spent. 👍

I had purchased a cheap old Japan surplus #FoldableBike and was using it for the first time for practice. Turns out it needed tightening somewhere. Didn't have the right wrench so we went to a bike shop. Good thing #BikeBuddy's hubby was with us and determined what was wrong* -- and it wasn't me! 🤪

What? Yeah yeah, I'm that dude with the gorgeous red gravel #bike. 🙄 Duh! 😅

(Though I can't imagine getting myself home on a bike with just 1 good arm. Hence a #FoldableBike. I can call my bro or hire a car to get home.)
