Ich mach mich grade bisschen rar hier, weil so viel offline zu tun.

Möchte euch aber hier mal zwei Videos lassen, die ich super inspirierend finde für die Planung meines neuen Gartens. Inklusive eines Buches, das in der Beschreibung von Video 1 genannt wird: "Restoration Agriculture - Real-World Permaculture for Farmers" von Mark Stepard.
In der Beschreibung von Video 2 gibt es eine tolle Vorlage der Kanalinhaberin, um die geplanten potentiellen Pflanzen zu kategorisieren.
Dementprechend wird mein Garten wohl kein "normaler" Schrebergarten mit rechteckigen Beeten werden, sondern wohl eher so eine Art hügeliger FoodForest.😁
Zumindest mal so meine ersten Ideen. Wenn ich das final aufgezeichnet habe, werd ich das mal hier posten, noch ist es aber noch nicht soweit. Ich nutze aber schon einige Tipps aus dem ersten Video zur Planung des Gartens.

4 fruit trees planted - pear x 2, cherry, apricot. The top ground was still frozen pretty hard so had to use the mattock to break through then all fine and diggable (a real word despite what autocorrect thinks) below. All fertilised with worm castings.

more nightshades: potatoes, tomatoes, sweet pepper

corn, beans, and squash (all the legumes and cucurbits)

all the brassicas, so important for winter and early spring.

ginger and turmeric. leeks. mushrooms!!!

i’d like a lot of food from my food forest, but also you never know what will thrive once it really gets going

Just taken delivery of a walnut, Myrick, a black mulberry, another olive, Frantoio, a pepino and a cape gooseberry. Now I have to decide on the natives council is insisting we plant on our boundaries. The demands are endless. 🙄

In another part of the land I've mixed ornamentals with food bearing trees, viz another chestnut (sweet), mulberry, almond, pecan, pomegranate, elderberry and two plums. Ornamentals are forest pansy and wedding cake tree. Some kouka round that lot off.

My tree planting crawls onwards. Today into the ground on the hill went an olive, a quince and an Inga Bean, joining a walnut, chestnut, 3 hazel nuts and a macadamia. Still to come another walnut and olive. Maybe that will do for the big 'uns.

Living my #gardening dreams today - bought myself a finger lime. I have the perfect spot for it next to a north facing wall. Making long term plans for a garden is one of the greatest privileges of home ownership. I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of it. #FoodForest

Three more trees have arrived for my food forest, a quince (Taihape), olive (Piquel) and Inga Bean. I must stop buying now. Yeah right.
