Writing the disturbing holiday meal has made me realize, belatedly, that I'd like to make some #souse. Off to find a Vancouver source for pigs' feet. I could use chicken wings, but that's not the mouthfeel I'm wanting. Wonder whether any markets here sell shadow beni? (chardon beni, i.e "blessed thistle.") Also known as culantro (not cilantro, tho cilantro w parsley might approximate the flavour). I miss having Caribbean grocery stores within striking distance. #FoodIsGood

#Clementines, peeled and halved, are another fruit that a dehydrator can turn into stunningly beautiful flavour explosions. Be aware, though; there is a lot of fibre packed into each half. Like, a lot. #FoodIsGood
The dehydrated cherry #tomatoes didn't last long. They were so dang yummy; same mouthfeel as cranberries, similar sweetness without needing added sugar to achieve it. And they were so very pretty and tempting and jewel-like, sitting there in their little glass jar...

This afternoon's #food discovery: Half-dehydrated cherry #tomatoes warm out of the dehydrator are AMAZING. Tart, sweet, warm, juicy, with an intense tomato flavour. The remaining ones may not make it all the way to the point where they are dehydrated enough to store. #FoodIsGood
