Better: donate to your local food bank.

Best: vote for political representatives with the courage to raise #taxes to fund universal #foodSecurity, so that people don't need to rely on personal #charity or #foodBanks to survive.

We wouldn't need #foodBanks or #homelessShelters if we lived up to our commitments to food and shelter security in Article 25 of the #UDHR, which #Canada signed in 1948.

We wouldn't need #cancer #fundraisers if we financed research adequately through our taxes.

These #charities do important work, but they can't keep up, and they shouldn't have to exist.
