I was pleased to hear the Bishop of Leeds, Nick Baines on #BBCRadio4 this morning reminding us of the serious loss of life caused by the #Dambuster raid:

An estimated 1,600 civilians – about 600 Germans and 1,000 forced labourers, mainly Soviet – were killed by the flooding. 😢 RIP
I’m glad my family in the Ruhr were safe.

While the airmen were brave and 53 of them were killed, it’s not an action to be proud of today.
