My last fosters went to their home Thursday and I have major empty nest syndrome.

The fact that the foster room is empty speaks to the volumes of work that I did; speutering, socializing, and adopting scores of cats and kittens from this 'hood, but going into that room cold and empty after 18 months of fuzzy inhabitants was super creepy. It felt cold and dead, in contrast to the warmth and life it held 36 hours prior.

Good news! Handsome Toot, my former foster cat, was adopted from Memphis Animal Services on Feb-28-2023. So, success in rehoming both of the fosters I took in back in October.

Big Petfood/Veterinary rant follows.

One of my foster kitties requires a digestive prescription food for a while. It took a half hour and an act of congress to get a prescription written up, AND I have to go pick up the paper prescription.

Is this really necessary? The only thing unusual about the food is that it has extra probiotics and fiber, and doesn't taste quite as yummy to them as regular food.

As an update, I surrendered Tiger to Memphis Animal Services in December and he's been adopted. Latest word is he's doing well with his new family. I surrendered Handsome Toot ,fka Tiger Too, on Feb 14th. He's still at MAS. #FosterCats
