Watching people discuss issues with upgrading and corruption and modules not working in #Foundry #VTT reminds me that I get paid a shitload of money to deal with that shit professionally, which is why I have zero desire to do so in my #TTRPG hobby.

Playing around with setting up #Foundry for #Dragonbane without purchasing the Add-On that automatically imports all the skills, weapons, spells, and so on, and instead doing it manually.

And just was surprised that a new custom NPC character sheet automatically includes all the skills I manually created. It's things like these that make me understand why Foundry costs money while Roll20 doesn't, and I feel I'm getting something for my money.

@SimonHain @greenspindle @moonmoth ich hoste #Foundry auch selbst, greife aber ausschließlich im LAN darauf zu, da ich nur Tischrunden betreibe. Dafür ist es super.

#Foundry VTT preparation of Bugbear Awakening. In the beginning it was a bit of a learning curve, then most of the effort went into defining walls and other elements on maps. With a big of experience that then became routine as well. What in the end took me most of the time was setting up the NPCs especially those with lots of spells or abilities.
Bonus: uploading awesome character art (created by the talented https://instagram.com/ssunnyday6 ) to later show to the players.

Today’s #Pathfinder Beginner’s Box session went well. I learned more about #Foundry and we all learned more about #PF2E. Unfortunately, one person couldn’t make for very good family reasons. However, we only made it halfway through the Beginner’s Box and can easily pickup where we left off and just have them join at that point.

As I prepare to run the #Pathfinder Beginner’s Box tomorrow in #Foundry I keep learning new useful stuff. For example if you create a Loot object on a map and it contains coins there is a Distribute Coins button that even splits the coins across the party. As the guy who normally tracks the loot and splits up the money when I’m a player, this such a nice feature.

I’m running the #Pathfinder Beginner’s Box for my #TTRPG group Sunday and have been getting it set up in #Foundry. I have to say it makes excellent use of Foundry’s features. The maps are setup to use overhead art and it has all the right audio files, including those that will trigger when players enter specific areas. I’ve learned a lot about what Foundry can do from prepping to run it.

I used to play Role Master back in the 80s and see they've updated but still use lots of tables and charts. It would be great if they'd make system modules for #VTTs. It's a great system but automating it in #Foundry or #Roll20 could only make it better. But they've gone with their own (very) limited software system. With so many different gaming systems popping up every day they aren't special enough for that approach to work. #Rolemaster, #ttrpg
