@gemlog Well, first of all in #polqc , Premier #FrançoisLegault announced that measures would gradually be removed, and he mentioned the protest in Québec City a week ago as a sign of rising frustration in the province. (He was criticised for implying that trucker protests influenced the decision.)

Secondly, Canadians overall seem to be wearying of #covid19 restrictions, and want them to end. We've been at this point before, but public sentiment is stronger now.

Premier Kenney has let's say a 50% chance of losing his job in the next two years, partially because of #covid19 policies. The other premiers who brought in restrictions and are now loosening them have a good chance of being re-elected. Here in Québec, Premier #FrançoisLegault has gone from incredibly popular to merely very popular.

#BorisJohnson will probably lose his premiership in the nezt few weeks, but not for tightening or loosening.

@keithzg Albertans are right to have objections to the equalisation programme, which incentivises provinces to arrange their affairs to maximise transfer payments rather than to grow their economy.

One of the commendable comments of Premier #FrançoisLegault is that #Québec should be ashamed of being a perennial have-not province, and should aim not to receive equalisation.
