Gestern habe ich mit Freunden den sehr empfehlenswerten und vielfach ausgezeichneten Film "Step Across the Border" (1990) über den Musiker "Fred Frith" gesehen! Fred Frith war mir bis dahin kein Begriff: Jazzer, Rocker, Komponist. Beeindruckend zu sehen, was man mit einer Gitarre alles machen und wie Kreativität entstehen kann. Zu sehen auch die durch den Film bekannt gewordene tschechische Sängerin und Violinistin Iva Bittová. Sehenswert!

More #FredFrith, tonight. Some marvelous bits including a lengthy performance of the original #SkeletonCrew lineup of #Frith and Tom Cora. I was fortunate to have seen one of their gigs at Northwestern around '83 if I recall correctly. The show had a lasting impact and permanent influence. Being introduced to #ArtBears, Frith and the whole #RalphRecords catalogue at a young age really expanded my musical palate.
