@redstarfish@social.linux.pizza thanks for your quick reply & feedback! For your suggestion, I apologize my answer is no, as I only write personal story there.
However about my recommendations, I myself use Telegram (GNU GPL) since 2014, as it is user friendly free software for most people. I know you use it too, Starfish.
For the pros and cons, I cannot write that, but everyone with capacity can consider these sources:
1) prism-break.org
2) privacytools.io/classic
3) securemessagingapps.com
recenlty I read Bradley Kuhn (in the conservancy irc channel) praising the efforts of projects like these
and I also read the controversy about Drew De Vault and his project (tech qualities alone don't suffice)
there's also the argument about Sass things, by Richard Stallman in persone nonetheless !
So I'm wondering: why don't these things take off ?
Have the corporations polluted the mindshare of the FLOSS communities so much ?
I'm wondering if projects like this could help, in this regard

keeping the issue tracking ina git based backend would allow to keep using patches sent to mailing lists, for the lovers f that workflow

Hello @strypey, @redstarfish@social.linux.pizza, @lightweight, Dr. @schestowitz, @kapper1224, @nemo, sir admin @downey, @privacytools, @disroot, @Chocobozzz what do you think about this new Jami? Jami is a libre decentralized messenger from The GNU Project. The new Rendezvous feature -ability to turn a mere Jami client into a video conference server- is very great I think.

you should see the last thread on the libreplanet-discuss mailing list
It's like the GNU mailing lists
Pure garbage
Stallmann managed to attract and radicalize the worst people around
Good job 👍
