Yes NPR is most definitely state sponsored media - as the US government is where it's basic operating budget money's come from & as such in spite of continual requests for private donations - if all paid subscribers & donors ended their support tomorrow & never sent anything else - they'd still continue to run just fine for decades ahead.....
