If I were to describe 2022 in assistive technology, I would have to say it was the year of speech synthesizers. Eloquence and external TTS engines on iOS, new quality voices for both Windows 11 and Android, some interesting developments for the Polish language etc.
In honour of that, I would like to host a show on #Freirad, a local community station in Innsbruck, Austria related to music created using speech synthesizers. Here my question: am I fine playing things from the Dectalk archive on a station with a fair amount of local terrestrial coverage that is covered to play commercial music? I mean, what license are files from the Dectalk Archive under anyway and even if it's OK to play them, what about the original songs and their rights? I think it's a piece of fun worth showcasing but also wouldn't like to harm anybody's hard work.
Also, if you have suggestions of music sampling speech synthesizers or using them in any other way, this thread is open for you.
Also, I hope this use of CW's is fine.
