40. #MutantYearZero(#FriaLigan) We venture forth into the wastelands west of our river island runway base and make it beyond the arena before we are turned back by intense rot. We fight off come cannibals and befriend a telepath who seems trustworthy, for now. And then our fixer rigs and old radio and we hear a strange message. It's pretty fun so far.

38. #MutantYearZero (#FriaLigan) A change of pace as someone else was ran a game. Mostly chargen this week, which was fun and then essentially a hex crawl across London to find something that crashed from the heavens. But after two moves we hit some heavy rot and went home again to shower off. There's quite a lot of bookkeeping around the play but I'm enjoying it.

@rwhe @ttrpg My early #ttrpg gaming was dominated by @Chaosium’s games; my first game was #CallofCthulhu 2e (D&D was my second, but both of those only preceded #Traveller because it was OOP in the UK) #Pendragon, #Ringworld and #RuneQuest also got some serious play time. My favourite was #Stormbringer, either in 2e or Elric!/5e form.

The closest I get to #BRP these days is #DeltaGreen. I keep eyeing up Pendragon again, and also #FriaLigan’s #Dragonbane which is plumbing the same roots.

@MiskatonicUK I love all things #FriaLigan. I want to like Forbidden Lands more, but I don't like the way Willpower is handled. You only gain it by pushing rolls and being damaged (and Strongholds), which means casters can't cast anything until they have been damaged by pushing. I would have to houserule something where adventures start with some Willpower at the start of the adventure or day. Otherwise it doesn't make sense to me.

Just a FYI that Free League has started their Black Friday sale, with a great many things 50% off!

My only purchase was the Alien Boxed Starter Set for less than $20, so I got that going for me!

@thedicemechanic I've been really pleased with the FL games I've bought. I've run Tales From The Loop and Coriolis, both were great. I've bought Alien and Twilight 2000, I might not ever get around to running the latter but I'm really looking forward to running Alien. Oh, Symbaroum is a fantastic setting too. One of my players had Vaessen and I'm hoping he runs out for us. I probably spend more on Free League stuff that any other big publisher.

Walking Dead RPG coming from Free League.

I'm not a huge fan of the Walking Dead, but I'm a double huge fan of Free League, specifically the Year Zero Engine.

I'll buy this when it hits. I tend to enjoy the high-octane pulp heroism of 2d20 more than the survival elements of Year Zero, but they're always quality books that I'm excited to have on my shelf.

I see all these people in #ttrpg and #ttrpgintroduction that talk about their latest games... and when I tried to remember what I've played I realized it's mostly hacks and creative projects from people I know!

I did play #bladesInTheDark but even that we switched over to our own hack because the system didn't work for us 🤷‍♂️

Last time I played a published game it was GMing #AlienRPG from #FreeLeague / #FriaLigan in front of an audience.

Just being able to make shit up is pretty dope :D

The *The One Ring 2e* 10 Anniversary Kickstarter is insane. Good for #FriaLigan. They're going to need some serious planning when the 5e version launches.
