At one point I believed, generally speaking, in the Supreme Court / #SCOTUS.

Oh, I had no illusions about its past or its present. I knew about the #Taney court and the #Fuller court. I knew about the overreach and the problems of the #Rehnquist court.

But I believed, the naïve white kid that I was, that over time the court had improved and that the court would move (or be pushed) in the correct direction.

That even when they got it wrong, the courts existed to safeguards our freedoms.
