Got a #Xiegu #G90 yesterday.

The big negative is that the Xiegu DE19 digital interface (that I got to go with it) has been nothing but trouble. I will likely be returning it and getting a signallink instead. The main reason I got this radio was to be able to do FT8 and related modes on more bands, so the interface situation has been disappointing.

Positively --- I made a lot of SSB Phone QSO's today. I have been surprised by how much more I'm being heard at 20 watts over 5 watts.

I picked up a used #Xiegu #G90 #GSOC head on ebay. Holy smokes this screen is the bomb diggity. It takes a bit of time and patience to figure out firmware quirks, and the no-less-than 3 separate cables are a real pain to manage... but that screen! 🤓 Just used this rig to break through a massive pileup on 10m for a #parksontheair station in Hawaii - only 20W into a homebrew vertical dipole. Lovin it.

Hallo. Weiß jemand ob/wie ich das I/Q-Signal des G90 in SDR Console bekomme? Geht das überhaupt? Dazu muss SDR Console ja eine Soundkarte als Device einbinden. Ich finde aber kein Soundkartendevice.

Found a different spot well away from foot traffic so I could put up a multi-band random wire w/9:1 balun. The #Xiegu #G90 tuned it up on every band in a second or less.

First time in the field with my new #Xiegu #G90 from #radioddity. Received several comments on great audio quality and broke through a couple of pileups (or at least got lucky) with only 20W. Impressed! Can't argue with that view from the op position.

Thought I could use my #NanoVNA to dial in my manual HF tuner but it doesn't really work. Maybe too low of power? Using the SWR sweep on the #G90 works well though.

Anybody ever seen their radio ( #G90 in my case) begin transmitting late in the FT8 cycle? The TX on the radio doesn't initiate until 7 or 8 in the 15 second count.

Was mich nervt? Dass ich diese Tasche hier nicht bekommen kann.

Ich glaube, ich jammere auf hohem Niveau, wenn ich sage, dass mit meiner Antenne auf 80m nix geht - wenn ich ins Log schaue, sind das jetzt seit ca. 17 UTC (also 18 Uhr localtime) 19 Verbindungen, die ins Log gingen... und das mit 20 Watt an nem 22m Draht unterm Dach... klar is da jetzt viel DL drunter ... aber für die Ausrüstung eigentlich doch ein Ergebnis, was soweit ok ist. Ich mag meinen #Xiegu #G90 🙂

Is it possible to use the IQ output of the #Xiegu #G90 for a panadapter display on a Linux machine? Which software could do that?
flrig pilots perfectly the rig and display main switches and knobs, but a full screen waterfall would be great !

In fact the #Xeigu #G90 works well in #digimode too !
20 watts is enough for #FT8

Oh oh, I haven't seen that #Xiegu proposes a new firmware for the #G90.
