The #tories have failed on:
#NHS, #inflation, #Energy prices, Food imports, #Wage rises (Except for themselves), Economy & pretending that #Partygate didn't happen! That = BEHIND #Labour in all the polls. So they drag out the old #Brexit routine, #asylum #seekers or illegal immigration in tory parlance! When will the #PM call a #GE? If the polls slightly go up for the Tories? Who will be at Dover with his binoculars, soon, I wonder?
#tories #nhs #inflation #energy #wage #partygate #Labour #brexit #asylum #Seekers #pm #GE
@BobM
Labour already are but we all know they have to win next #GE first. Once they're in govt then it's baby steps to repair the massive damage the Tories have done to the UK's relationship with the EU27. An important point to make though is that @keir_starmer is popular with many leaders but trust still has to be earned & that's going to take time & a lot of hard work including getting the economy back on track by improving the dreadful hard brexit deal they'll inherit
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-64382336
So once again, after 13+ years in power, all the issues within the #UK are caused by 'other people', not #tory mismanagement. They are #pathetic. #incompetent & unfit to govern. #GE now!
#uk #tory #pathetic #incompetent #GE
Sorry to continue with doom-laden predictions, but..
I wonder how many people are expecting a #Labour victory at the next #GE to be the answer to all the UK's problems? Personally, I think they'll be disappointed. Many of the problems are entrenched, there's no money, and #Brexit will continue to bleed £100bn pa out of our GDP. When people realise this, I expect the current unrest to continue - perhaps worsen.
It would be very encouraging to see the #LibDems and #Labour publicly sign up to a non-compete agreement with each other for the next #GE
Please give everyone some confidence that in any constituency where the two parties are not currently first and second, there will be united front against the #Conservatives.
Sincere thanks.

"Good that the "I always vote labour" thing is all but dead now, and more dead after today!"
Really? This says something different....even in #Scotland
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_polling_for_the_next_United_Kingdom_general_election
Scroll down & there are the poll numbers for #Scotland - #SNP lead, sure, but #Labour catching up at 10% behind
@andrewmarkbaker @thanetric @KeirStarmer
Well I think at this stage there is more danger in reopening barely stitched #brexit wounds. It is an uncomfortable fact a fair proportion - over 20% - of #labourVoters chose #leave in 2016. So prior to a #GE there is danger in talk of #rejoin or #FoM - I suspect #starmer would prefer to say nothing at all about the #EU
Once in #10, then policy develops..... but big changes must be in a #manifesto - so IMO that would be #2018GE at the earliest
#brexit #labourVoters #leave #GE #Rejoin #FOM #Starmer #EU #manifesto #2018GE
Well I kind of agree in part - upsetting those still grieving #EU exit does not seem to be likely to please them - but I have some sympathy with him - 70% of the press want #starmer to fail & look to trip him up. Even those more neutral want a real story, and being anodyne is not what they want
We have c 18months till next #GE - no need 4 #labour to commit to policy till it is called & I see no purpose even then in promises that cannot be kept like #rejoin or #SM
#EU #Starmer #GE #Labour #Rejoin #SM
It could feature in a manifesto for the #GE after next (ie about 2028) but I doubt restoring FoM is politically possible without a prior manifesto commitment.
That 2016 decision was a calamity - expecting to recover from it in a few short years is the triumph of hope over experience.
Depends how you define "credible" - if as I suspect #Stamer does it means focussed on winning the next #GE then #Labour looks pretty credible
To be clear I voted #Remain
& went on several "B**cks to Brexit" protest marches - at one of which #Starmer spoke clearly of his opposition to the project before it was im[plemented. But I'm an engineer not an ideallist - I accept for pragmatic reasons fighting to #rejoin or even for #FoM is not the best way at present
#Stamer #GE #Labour #Remain #Starmer #Rejoin #FOM
Well my feeling is #Starmer knows if he stays pretty anodyne and just makes sensible and rather bland centrist statements with minimum commitment, that maximises the #Labour vote. Whether this is what he does all the way up to a #GE I don''t know
In reality, elements like #PR are only really attractive to natural supporters of #LibDem & #Green parties (and of course #Reform 😠 ) so I do not think it will get Labour more votes but just makes a hostage to fortune.

Before #Annihilation at the #GE

Bloody hell. Can confirm one of the brightest stars if the 2019 intake @DehennaDavison@twitter.com is standing down at the next election. 8k majority. In her 20s. Really sad news.
What is happening to the Tory Party? Haemorrhaging some of its best people.
#ship #leaving #Sinking #rats #annihilation #GE
@Xewhat My guess is that he's not sharing policies until the #GE in case the Tories steal them and go "Look at this policy I came up with, isn't it great?" immediately followed by favourite line "What is #Starmer doing?" despite the fact that he's in opposition and it's #Tories job to be doing the things
The press parroting the line "What is Starmer doing?" and people falling for it doesn't help either
Either that or he doesn't have any policies. That's viable too
Malaysian politics is becoming like a Game of Thrones.
Twist & turn at every corner. And I believe even after a government is formed (can't believe it's 2 nights & we still don't have one yet) the plot twists will never cease until the the next #GE
Meanwhile, I'm enjoying my Bubur Pulut Hitam (black glutinous rice porridge) while watching the drama unfolds

I'm thinking of having this as my pinned tweet for a while. Say, between now and the next #GE...
