I agree completely.

Fabric, colours/pigment, body language, manners of speech, occupation, what you eat drink or anything else basically have no gender.

Suffocating soceities try and tell people what they can wear, what they can do, etc...and if you don't do 'what you're told' you are a 'freak', weirdo, checca, poof, dyke, lesbo etc.

#GenderNonConforming, #GNC, basically means 'That's bullshit! I'll wear lipstick if I fucking feel like it' or a woman says 'I hate make up. I hate heels. I'm not wearing them if I don't want to'

Those of us who are gay, like myself, are often told by a certain type of visible older #LGBT 'community' in popular culture , directly or indirectly, to 'look normal' 'we're just like everybody else'
#LGBTQIAplus people who are also #GNC say 'BULLSHIT'.

Calling oneself #GNC just means you're not interested in being told how to live your life and how to conduct yourself according to gender.

Whether you are cis, straight, bisexual, pansexual, trans, nonbinary, genderfluid, male, female, etc you're not going to be told how to look, act, etc based on someone else's gender expectations.

I have a question for the #cishet members of the #GuylinerBrethern:

Is it easier for you to socialise now, than say 5 years ago?

While a Guaranteed basic minimum income should exist for everyone (& be a lot more than $1,200/ month), trans, GNC & intersex folks are nearly 3x more likely than cis folks to be homeless and/or living below the poverty line.

Oh, it's #LGBTQSTEM day! I'd like to have something profound to say, but I'm still sick and sniffly. I'm still #ace and #gnc, which absolutely influences the way I think about science.

One of the things I think is really important about diversity in science that creates a real strength for queer people in science in particular, is our tendency to create idiosyncratic networks by finding to one another. Those connections can become collaborations or influences across societies and disciplines.

I'm perpetually interested in #sex and #gender in the animal kingdom, and currently #sex-differences are part of my work. (This is partly personal—I am #queer and #GNC — and partly just that I'm fascinated by choices and decisions, and how we all cope with trade offs and restraints.)

I've worked on #leptin in the past and would like to revisit that, and I'm looking forward to hanging with my #neuroendocrinology friends at #SICB this winter.
