GRRM provides a few more details about the KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS adaptation, including the fact that a full season (likely 6 episodes) has been ordered by HBO. He also calls attention to one of my big concerns: the Dunk and Egg stories aren't finished yet!

I've read a lot of GRRM's short stories but I don't think I ever read this one. Thankfully "In the Lost Lands" is in GRRM's Dreamsongs Vol 1, so it just moved to the top of my reading list. Is anyone else familiar with this one?

Fuck #GoT and #GRRM

I love complicated characters who are flawed. I'm ok with characters that fail. I just hate when characters do a 180 change with no real development to support it. There is no reason to give #GRRM a pass here as he was involved in #GoT and has had ample time to finish the other books and build out that potential path for #Dany. I'd still be salty, but at least there would have been something to maybe support it. Instead, the theme is that you're doomed to succumb your nature. There is no hope

#GRRM and #GoT stripped #Dany of her growth by forcing the #MadQueen narrative. As a character they doomed her to nature (#mentalillness). Her efforts to nurture herself and her mental health were therefore futile. It is really disgusting to me. I'm not saying she had to win the throne or win at all. I'm just very against the Mad Queen arc because it cheapens everything her character did in pursuit of personal well-being. Dany being betrayed by her advisors sure, her losing her mind is foul play

#DaenerysTargaryen should never go #MadQueen. What #GRRM and the TV show did was a quick and dirty kill using #mentalillness as the justification for it. #Dany, like any reasonable person who thought they were at risk, was taking extra measures to prevent exactly what the writers lazily decided. It is a slap in the face to all those who seek to better themselves - which she was trying to do as a very lonely young woman.

Diatribe Time! I believe that George R. R. Martin #GRRM is a living cautionary tell for all other authors. There are likely dissertation on him and his career already and that not what my little rant here is going to be about. Nope! I'm here to make the case for #DaenerysTargaryen and how GRRM and #GoT did her character dirty.

I've had quite a lot of time to think about this, about how her book character could still grow and how her TV character arc failed. How #MentalIllness was portrayed.
