I hope the February patch fixes the persistent Bluetooth drop-outs on my #GalaxyS21 that started with #Android13.

These Bluetooth dropouts also take down #AndroidAuto and sometimes preclude the use of Android Auto altogether. 🤬

I've got one, and I've gone back to my #GalaxyS21 Ultra.

It's been a weird thing. Probably teething issues for the most part, but I've experienced way too much scrolling lag in a lot of apps, and a weird bug where it'll drop calls after 2 seconds (activating and deactivating flight mode will stop it happening *for a while*), and for some reason it's also not offering the "suggest a strong password" option that normally pops up when registering on a site or in an app.

So, all fairly annoying, if not world-ending stuff. I've found reddit and google support threads about each of these issues though, so I'm surprised none were addressed in the November update!

I also much, much prefer Samsung's markup tool in its image editor. Many more features, like pixelating or blurring sensitive details on screengrabs, etc. I know I can use other apps for that, but it still makes Google's markup tool pretty disappointing by comparison.

This "bubbling" of the screen has been progressing for a few months. Tonight, that black notch appeared on the left. Phone is less than a year old. Ideas what's happening? This is going to continue to get worse, right?

Okay, I feel weird about this, but... I've switched back from my #Pixel7 Pro to my #GalaxyS21 Ultra.

The Pixel has some amazing features and a dropdead gorgeous UI/UX (stunning animations and beautiful haptics), but there's just too many things I love about my S21.

The home screen is more customisable (meaning no need for third party launchers), the native markup tool is so much better (I do a lot of markup on images), and weirdly I also prefer Samsung's gallery over Google Photos (although I do still use Google Photos for backup). Plus, not being a 64-bit phone means I an still use Instander, haha.

I still use mostly Google apps like Gmail and Google Calendar, and I've deactivated/uninstalled the few annoying 'bloatware' apps (which is less and less these days, Samsung is really smartening up), so the experience is frankly excellent. I have many years of experience in making Samsung phones suit my preferences, haha.

Anyway, these are the things that matter to me, I guess. I love Pixel's many clever features like call screening, Direct my Call, camera and image editing tricks, and spooky good audio transcribing (so I might actually keep the phone for work trips), but other than that... 🤷‍♂️

Who knows, I'll probably go back to the Pixel at some point. I AM notoriously wishy-washy, a lifelong flip-flopper. But hey, keeping a fluid position is a good thing, 😂.
