Q. why do people like #DominicRaab & #gavinwilliamson behave so badly when in top governmental positions?

If this was happening elsewhere the simple answer would be they've been promoted well beyond their level(s) of competence... so the next Q. is why do they get these jobs?

And that's where things get a bit murky... rumours suggest Williamson has something on Johnson & others (from his time as whip) that they would prefer not be revealed... Could this be the same for Raab?

Sunak/ No 10 didn’t want to be seen to be sacking Gavin Williamson in response to political or media pressure - worrying that “setting a precedent by sacking Williamson would have difficult implications when future ministers were in a tricky spot”

I've seen snide remarks on his use of "refute" instead of "rebut" or simply "deny"

But actually his misuse of "refute" in our current political hellscape seems apt

Because lots of politicians *want* us to believe them when they say black is white. Rebutting IS refuting for many these days
