The #BangkoSentral's coin deposit machines are possibly the cheapest (zero fees!) way for @pinoy|s to top-up (cash-in) their #gcash or #maya #ewallet
With certain channels, there's a 2% convenience fee beyond a certain threshold amount, while doing it via the machine will get you the full value of your coin hoard 💰

The machine turn your coins into #eWallet credits: #gcash or #maya only.
The "CoDM" is a project of the central bank with the aim of recirculating coins back in public pockets, and alleviating coin shortage in some areas.
The person in the photo has a large bag, with huge containers full of coins . And there's a (short) queue behind them.

👛 The new #eWallet from BPI looks promising, and is already available to current BPI Online users in the @philippines
💰 I like that it takes advantage of the @pinoy #QRph for cross-wallet transactions, to pay or transfer funds to other eWallets like #Gcash, #Maya, #ShopeePay, etcetera.
✅ So far, it doesn't seem to charge anything for the service, and the best thing about it is that #DuckDuckGo's APT doesn't report any tracking attempts by the app.

I'm curious about user behavior re the use of #eWallets for #MicroPayments
Do you only (usually) use the same #eWallet brand to pay recipients using the same eWallet?
Does that even matter where you're from? Feel free to elaborate by adding a reply.
In the #Philippines, for example, people usually pay #Gcash to Gcash / or #Maya to Maya because of zero transaction fees. A transaction with another wallet (e.g. Maya to Gcash) may cause a few extra bucks - which adds up, if you use it a lot.

Re "Hindi puede”
@evelyn Frankly, many people at the counter don't always know. Even before #QRph, it was possible to pay #Gcash users with #Maya via #Instapay. There are transaction fees, of course, but possible.
What you could've done was scan the QR on your #Maya app. If it's recognized, you're good to go.
@evelyn 😅 Same here. I never had a #gCash, so I used to need another app for vendors stuck on this #eWallet . These days, thanks to #QRph , it's so much easier to transact across eWallets.
Yeah, this incident you described is a bit suspicious for me, too. I'd direct them to the nearest Globe shop. Scammers come in all forms, and ages.
The #QRph code is the #Philippines' Bangko Sentral's way of ensuring compatibility across #eWallets in the market.
It may be interoperable, but service providers still charge transaction fees for moving funds to other eWallets.
I found that #SeaBank's app works for #GCash, #Maya or whatever #bank/#eWallet that supports the #QRph standard, and they DO NOT charge ridiculous fees (for now?) for the transactions

Some of the catches for these (seemingly) random cashbacks I get from #Maya are
* I don't remember getting notified about them
* You need to "claim" them before they expire (when they could've just as easily credited them to your #eWallet)
Lately, I've noticed more people using both #GCash and #Maya. In fact, it seems that it's more likely that a GCASH user will have a Maya account, rather than asking if they have a bank account.
p. s. : #Seabank doesn't charge anything for using QR Ph codes

Anybody else using #Maya in the #Philippines ?
Do you keep any balance in your wallet ?
I'm a relatively new user (don't even have a #Gcash account  ) , but read of horror stories from users of the old #PayMaya about balances disappearing after using/receiving their debit cards , and customer service being unhelpful.
So, I keep mine empty and only replenish the balance when I know I need to use it.

Signed up for #GoTymeBank just to check out its features. Still confused why you need to transfer funds to a "Go Save" account. Anyway, #GCash to #ItsGoTyme transfer works.
