Clarence Thomas once again voted against the rights of Black Americans in his dissent in the Supreme Court ruling today in Allen v. Milligan in which a 5 to 4 SCOTUS voted in favor of Black voters who challenged Alabama’s 2021-enacted congressional map.

Beyond that, I don’t have any immediate observations” #Democracy

#Politics #Demographics #Elections It is obvious that the only way the Republicans can win is to #gerrymander & surpress their way to victory. It's demographics. More people of color, young people & more powerful LGBTQ+ means more wins for #diversity. Republicans can't win in a #Democracy so they embrace dictators. FL & TX who want to return to the #AntebellumSouth. (Enslaved & women don't vote). This isn't about religion. It's about control. The rest is noise.

The #Gerrymander thing is a total knife fight in each state. I agree that the Florida and NY redistricting process will likely result in a GOP majority in the House

I wonder if a case could be brought against gerrymandering using the Guarantee Clause and put an end to rogue district maps created to maintain power for one party. It certainly feels that such maps are contrary to a republican form of government
