When will people realize that #COVID19 and #RSV are airborne illnesses? I have 1/3 of my team at work out with COVID themselves or their family. Thanksgiving was about 2 weeks ago. Now we're seeing cases rise. It's become so bad in #Oregon that Governor #KateBrown has declared a public health emergency!

There's a story that's been attributed to various rich women, so probably apocryphal. The gist of it is that a beggar comes up to her in the street and says "Please! I haven't eaten for three days!" She replies: "You simply must force yourself."

This is what I'm reminded of when I see the Tories urging people to #GetBoostedNow.

As a nation, we are fucking trying. We are standing in five-hour queues at walk-in centres. We are swamping the NHS booking site so much that it crashes. We are spending hours on hold to booking lines, even though we're snowflake millennials who avoid phonecalls like the plague.

The fixation on urging people to "come forward" for their vaccine and get boosted is an ugly attempt to pretend that the problem is lack of demand/vaccine reluctance. That some of us aren't doing "our bit". The reality: politicians are failing to do their own job of providing the capacity and slowing the spread of the virus.
