Dunno when you were licensed before, but since 2007, Technicians have all the old "Novice/Tech+" HF privileges now (CW on 80/40/15/10, SSB on 10, DATA on 10). Don't want you to think you are stuck in Baofeng-land.

Also, depending one when you were licensed before, dual-band HTs are now $25!

Technicians have CW privileges on 80, 40, 15, and 10 as well as SSB Phone and Data on 10. That all sounds worth it to me ...

Technician HF privileges are usually ignored by older US amateurs who didn't pay attention to the rule change 16 years ago!
