My mobile data stopped working after an Android update. 😱
Of course I didn't realise until I needed it because I rarely use this, having WiFi instead. 🤷♂️
Of course the web is full of how-to fix this help, including "switch it off and on again". 🤦♂️
What worked was searching my carrier (#giffgaff) to find the correct APN settings and setting up a new Access Point Name with those settings. Phew, I have #MobileData again! 🥳
Another #GiffGaff refurbished iPhone success - client needed a new phone as she was on a very old and slow Nokia 1 Android phone.
She’s already got an iPad, so a purple iPhone 12 64gb for £349 was a no brainer.
Haha activated my new #GiffGaff sim card in my #PinePhonePro as I've never used 4G only WiFi and it's actually really cool using #SXMO to send and receive texts using #vim . One could get seriously used to mobile #Linux 😍

Well I've only gone and joined #GiffGaff and am awaiting my old number porting from #Three which says it will be completed on February 14th #ValentinesDay .
My wife phoned to complain to Three today as we've had no signal in our village since January 19th and they basically told her it will be fixed in another week which I'd been told a week ago and others nearly a month ago. I would NOT recommend #ThreeUK anymore !

@dajb Hmm yes I do see that they have two different packages. Some packages are marked "Always On" which according to #GiffGaff means:
With Always On data, you get a set amount of data at full 4G/5G speed. After you’ve used your set amount of data, you’ll still be able to get online, but you'll experience a reduced data speed of 384kbps from 8am to Midnight. You may notice that activities which require high amounts of data, like HD video streaming, will be slower.
UK folks I've been with #Three Mobile for at least 10 years and they are really starting to annoy me with constant signal outages. We've had no signal in our village for 3 weeks now and have reported it to just be fobbed off with excuses. So I've finally had enough of them.
I've looked at #GiffGaff as I could have a monthly contract but not sure about them ??
Would you be as kind to tell me who is good for calls and data around the UK please.
Boost if you can too TIA xoxo
I have a UK phone number from #giffgaff which I only use when I am in the UK (was a second SIM In my iPhone, though with the new one I don't have a physical SIM slot for their SIM).
Last year we spent a few weeks in the UK, and I just got an annual summary email from them about my usage this year. Seems they have a sense of humour too...
I use #Giffgaff. I have one sim for the phone in my pocket at £6/m and another which I use for a phone with WiFi hotspot for broadband (as I live on a boat) for £20/m 100GB.
It uses the #O2 network. I've also used #Vodafone (disgusting sheisters I'll never use again) and #Three both of which have good coverage wherever I was on the canal network.

@jumbo I have the same issue with #giffgaff, generally it’s been ok, but I do wonder if giffgaff is treated as a lower priority on the #O2 network, and where the network is busy, giffgaff users get pushed out. In many cases I’ve had a full 4g or 5g signal, but no data. So I’m toying with the idea to going to o2 proper.
Please consider buying secondhand phones for your family, both to save cost and help #ClimateChange.
I can recommend #GiffGaff refurbished phones: Phones are network unlocked; condition is ranked Good to Like New and always exceed expectation; phones arrive quickly; no quibble and convenient return policy, which I have used.
Worth looking after your phones and selling them back when you're ready to change. My family can't, as they invariably break the screens!

GiffGaff not working again. I live in a city centre, next to 2 university campuses, a major teaching hospital, a science park, all the local government offces, sports & entertainment venues, shops, conference centres etc and the local mobile mast(s) are never bloody working! What is the problem?
I complain, get a refund, but I just want a reliable service! Recommendation: never use GiffGaff if it is rarely working in your area:

Can’t beat #giffgaff as a phone provider. They just sent this email. Woohoo! :thinkhappy:
