Another June, another Traralgon marathon event. Once again, there for the half with a bunch of other #bawbawrunners . Weather at the start was cold and foggy, but cleared to a brilliant bluebird day. My race was casually indifferent, but issues early, solved by an unplanned toilet stop 🙄 Afterwards, all good as I found my rhythm.
Nicky needed to run under 2:30 to qualify for Wonderland. Result achieved with 2:17 (subject to confirmation), which was a great relief.

Not much growing in the vegetable garden this time of year, except self seeded borage.
The species Borago officinalis is from the Mediterranean region and thrives in a Victorian climate. I originally planted one in 2021, and have allowed seedlings to mature ever since, the bees love the star shaped flowers.

Two photos from a recent trip to #Gippsland to visit family.
First photo: I find it calming to look out at distant skylines, which is much easier to do in the country. I'm not sure why wide open spaces have this effect on me. Maybe because it seems like less clutter.
Second photo: I've been warned many times and heard many stories about gum #trees randomly dropping branches. I nearly had my own experience when I walked past a healthy looking gum tree on a lovely day and the next day it had dropped a massive branch (my young nieces and I, had a lot of fun climbing over the fallen branch. I'm just glad nothing or no-one was under it at the time it dropped)
