I've added another data point to my report on #GitHub #Actions: load how many times an action is used! Now I need to skip the ones in the 'actions' organization (less interesting I think) and add support for multiple ways actions can be addressed (see 2nd screenshot: the top item 'actions' is only used 125 times, where as the correct one is used quite a bit more).
Now to map that with the used Node version of that action and see how hard the deprecation of Node12 will hurt 🙈😱💩.#GitHubActions

Github released this week a beta version of their Github Actions extension for VScode.

This extension enables to manage and monitor the workflows run.

For a new GitHub project, I have started to deal more closely with the #GitHubActions. So far, my #Powershell modules were checked for pester errors during a PR and after the merge into the main branch, a new version was automatically posted to the gallery. My current dev state additionally determines the next semantic version during the PR, enters it into the manifest, updates the changelog, creates a release and pushes it to the gallery. Not 100% round yet, but I like it already.

TIL that #GithubActions don’t have Apple silicon runners. What are #OSS maintainers doing to produce binary tools these days? Cross compile from intel?

I think it’s pretty #spiffy that #GitHubActions help me turn a few #orgmode files into a #hugo generated web site. I may leverage that pattern for a few other small sites that I have in mind, but that would require my #lazy ass to come up with content and wade through the proliferating plethora of #themes.
