Got a "free" #Chromecast as part of a necessary upgrade to image storage with Google which means we can finally get the #Gizmoplex app to play through the TV, and that means we can go back through the #MST3K catalogue looking for episodes we've not seen (or don't remember watching) along with classics we can't get enough of. Tonight, it's one we can't remember ever seeing: S01E09 Robot Holocaust.

We've got the movie on DVD, and through helping to fund the #Gizmoplex we've got on demand streaming access to the movie too, but here we are anyway, watching a VHS quality version of #DevilFish on the #MST3K channel on #PlutoTV and still absolutely loving just how terrible the editing is on this film. @DrakkenZero @Alex22 yeah, #MST3k has helped me get through some pretty dark times. Now I boot up the #Gizmoplex on my phone or tablet to play The Starfighters or Prince of Space every night to help me fall asleep. Or when my anxiety is really high.

It's this great combination of story, humor, absurdity, and good hearted people.

I love how the show has elevated this films to a weird Cult like status and given new life to the characters. Like the many names of Dave Ryder.

@doctorLURK We haven't dipped our toes into #Gizmoplex yet, but we've seen like everything else lol. I introduced my husband to the show 25 years ago. He'd heard of the show before, but didn't know why you'd want to watch a bad movie. He bonded with the show when they made a Yngwie Malmsteen reference.

@Jamellica One of my all-time favorite shows, and endlessly rewatchable! There's always something for me to rediscover. Lately it's been Master Ninja I and The Magic Sword; I didn't appreciate how fun those episodes were when I was younger. All-time faves are mostly Mike episodes (especially The Final Sacrifice). Also just caught a cleaned-up version of Alien From L.A. on the #Gizmoplex app, which was a treat - my copy is in poor shape and I love Lost Continent/Hollow Earth adventure stories.
