@listlessness My only Worldcon so far was #Dublin2019, it was wonderful - I second volunteering as a way to meet people before you get there.

I’ve not sorted travel or accommodation yet but I have my membership and plan to go to Glasgow.

My advice is take the plunge! Even if you don’t meet people beforehand you’ll find like-minded people in the registration queue, or going to programme items, or in the bar/dealers hall/roaming the corridors.

Just spent a few days in Winnipeg mainly working the fan table for Glasgow 2024 #worldcon. Nice city but the winters must be brutal.

Lots of new members signed up, and good to see how a busy info desk can be a real nexus at a convention. Has set me thinking about what I want to achieve at #glasgow2024 next year.

Yay! Got my Discworld Convention ticket for next year! So I get to see many of my Discworld fan family in Cork in October 2023 and then a whole host of old friends and new in Birmingham in 2024. Also Glasgow Worldcon in August next year too. Twill be a busy couple of weeks
