View of the Round Tower at #Glendalough
The monastic site was founded by St. Kevin and dates back to the 6th Century. It has a cathedral, a priest’s house built in the Romanesque style and several churches, the most famous being St. Kevin’s Church.
The graveyard beside it has examples of Celtic high crosses and the round tower is considered one of the best in Ireland.

Walked the sphinc route above #Glendalough for the first time yesterday including psyching myself into a brief swim in the Instagram famous pool above the miners village. My friend did a nice job of capturing my facial expression at the moment I went shoulders down - I’d guess the water was at somewhere between 0 and 4c
