Few weeks ago I bought a whiz bang #4K TV with phenomenal display quality and brought the Xbox out of retirement, lugged it out to the lounge room and hooked it to the new TV alongside my #PS5. I just booted up #GearsOfWar 4. Now, my One isn’t a 4k version, but even with 1080p the graphics in GoW4 are freaking amazing. The game was so ahead of it’s time. It’s actually the series that I got Xbox for originally, just like #GodOfWar is the reason I got Playstation (the 2, back in the day) for.

As much as I'm loving #FinalFantasyXVI #PS5, I do wish there was more to the RPG elements. FF has been moving towards real-time combat for a while now, but 16 feels like the genre has changed wholesale to Action.
It would be nice to be able to affect character builds, issue party commands, manage magic use, etc.
It's not fair in this instance to dismiss the ire of veteran fans as "stuck in the past". IGN even posited that #GodOfWar is more an RPG.

But I started playing #GodOfWar this weekend and its internal FSR is doing an impressive job!
There are visible artifacts around Kratos in highly contrasting environments like snow (and there's plenty of snow, surprise surprise), but given it is upscaling from less than halved resolution it looks amazing and still gives 40-50 FPS most of the time.

It's got similarities with #darksouls, #elderscrolls and #godofwar in many ways, but at the heart of it, it an open world fantasy game with fun combat, monsters and exploration.
If you liked wandering about in ES games and getting side tracked lots then imagine that but with lots of random combat and lots of character builds with plenty of areas to explore.

J'ai mis 40mn pour venir à bout du Roi des Berserkers. Et 2h30 pour la Reine des Walkiries (très bon boss optionnel !)
J'ai redémarré une partie New Game + en mode de difficulté "extrême". Mais 3h et 3 boss sans mourir 1 seule fois plus tard, ça m'a lassé. Et je ne me vois pas retenter complètement de 0 juste pour un pseudo-challenge.
Je m'arrête là pour cet opus.
Je retente ma chance auprès de Sekiro.
