I’ve always been told to hold 5-10% of your wealth in and the last few years

When I set up my 401k I put 10% in metals fund of physical metals. 18 years later mi esposa was an independent contractor So we hired a tax expert who asked for all our info

This was 2009, they were worried that over 30% of my fund value was metals.

When I showed them that was because that portion of the fund had not lost much it became a larger part of the fund

They never questioned me again
